Occupying the space that used to hold the old McCormick Print Works just off Buchanan Street The Chippy takes a fresh look at the traditional fish and chip shop that has been loved for so long in the UK. The interior, designed by Julian Taylor, is light and spacious with an industrial feel from the bare brick walls and ceiling, balanced by brightly coloured seating and lighting and the polished wood floor. Casual dining is very much the aim and the atmosphere is 100% relaxed and informal. The cuisine leans towards seafood and the menu features all your chip shop favourites including classic fish and chips, fishcakes and black pudding. But lets face it, not everyone wants fish and chips so if you’re taking a fussy friend fear not, there’s also fish chowder, burgers, dressed crab, langoustine tails, monkfish, lobster salad and more. Plus the wine and Champagne list is a lot more impressive than the average chip shop! The Chippy also prides itself on being family friendly with children welcomed and catered for with their own special menu.
